Q: What is the difference between Life Coaching and therapy?
A: Life Coaching does not look to the past for answers. Life
Coaching allows you to recognize what is currently
working in your life and what steps to take to manifest
more of what you need or want in the future. Life
Coaching focuses on your strengths and assists you
in setting and reaching important Life Goals.
Psychotherapy is a healthcare service for people with
diagnosable mental disorders. People experiencing severe
emotional distress or marked functional impairment in one
or more areas of their lives would benefit more from
psychotherapy. Life Coaching is not a treatment for
or a substitute for treatment for mental disorders.
Q: How many Life Coaching sessions will I need?
A: That depends on your needs and wants. If you seek
Life Coaching for a highly specific, short-term goal, you
may achieve your goal in only a few sessions. If you want
to achieve dreams that have a number of components, or
desire assistance in a series of goals (depending upon the
number and complexity of your goals), you may need Life
Coaching sessions for three months, six months, a year,
two years, or more. Life Coaching lasts as long as you
continue to receive benefit from it and have unmet goals.
